DREAMS...

Those fanciful will'o wisp that plague us in the wee hours of the morning. They can reveal our greatest inner desires, fears and hopes. They awaken us, gasping for breath and shaken at time. Others, a smile may light our lips at the sweetest of thoughts that have been dreamt. Some seek interpretations of them, striving to understand their own psyche. Others draw inspirations from them.

Since I have had some very strange dreams this week, I choose DREAMERS AND DREAMS as the theme. The wonderful art this week highlights those who dream and what they dream of....

She playes alone
In those big rooms
She talks for her dolls
Laughs and fights
Playes angry and empathy
She dreams up a world
She thinks represents reality
They cry, they're sad
They laugh, they're hurt
They've sex, she's only eight

Curled up against the wall
Her mother is screaming
She doesn't understand;
While her tears fall down her cheeks;
She tried to hide from her mother's hits
There's a little girl
In her dark big room
Pretending to be asleep
"I'm not there, don't you see?"
No covers, she pretends she can't feel
Her father's just kissing her goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, let me close my eyes
They're nothing but some bad dreams
They're nothing but some bad dreams
"I'll be fine, I'll just close my eyes, and grow up"
They're nothing but some bad dreams, or so they say
There's a little girl
She's crying herself to sleep, everynight
She can't explain why
She sets herself up, to cry those tears

These Dreams
I have danced with the raven of darkness
I have kissed death itself
I have loved the one who slaughtered me
I have not put my love upon a shelf.
I have seen the good and the bad
I have seen the darkness and light
I have seen into the darkness
I have lived in a world of fright.
I have never been frightened
I have never even been scared
I have never been left alone
I have always been spared.
I have seen the new moon waxing
I have seen the things others call real
I have seen deaths cloud around me
I have been blinded when my life it did try to steal.
I have always been told of dying
Oh how horrible to others it seems
But I think that it is quite wonderful
