The Earth Beloved and Wronged
imperfect world, you are flawed like us all, and cause great pain
as can only one so loved, yet you have done and continue to do
so much so right, the sights, the sounds, the smells and touch of you
changeable Earth, the winds, tempestuous and calm, the heat, the rain
and so lovely, most beautiful where you run wild and free
though not the whole of you, as you were in times gone by when
we let you be, your own true self, I wish I had known you then
when we loved you better, Earth, and no creature failed to see
you, just you, imperfect as you were but ours to share
with other living things, how quickly we forget we do not own
you, Ea
