Among the GravesTrailing her small fingers along the cool stone, her delicate face shows a peaceful contentment that no one understands. She loves this place, the calm and quiet that permeate the small yard just beyond the rot iron gates. Most people in their right mind would not linger here. It is a place of sadness, a place of ‘goodbye.’ To her, it is home.

She somewhat remembers, in the fuzzy recesses of her dreamy mind, the first time she passed these gates. The day was cold. Snow had once again graced the small village she lived in. Turning the streets into play ways for the village children, the white blanket of snow brought out the silly si

a candle unlit
in dark places
The Spirit HourEmbrace me
in your seductive silence,
lost within the ivory Goddess,
my dreams stolen among
the spirit lights.
Rune Of LoveYou are my light
to guide me through the night,
my sun and stars,
who washes away my scars
and I am your Lady Moon
inscribed in your heart as a rune,
through the mists we travel together
our souls bond by an eternal tether,
beneath the world tree
you lay close beside me,
skin touching skin we quake
lest the spirits should wake.

In our love we become the one
the spiral dance that is never done
upon my lips the goddess speaks to your God.
In the Heart of MidnightMy heart rings in
the midnight hour
and softly the dark
allure begins to descend.

As a curtain falling,
I am left standing
upon the stage alone
watching the lights
systematically go out.

In the last flash
everything becomes
black, but for a distant
halo that remains,
my eyes in light-fog.

Caught in the zenith
of my mind, somewhere
on the other side
I know you are there.

But when the magic hour
dawns, will you
be left silhouetted
against the light.

Or shall I watch
your shadow
retreat behind
the meridian
of my thoughts.
Smoker in the DarkThe smoke lingered
above his head
hovering in sensual
sinuous movements,
as it curls, like the ends
of his lips when he smiles
in that devil may care
way which makes my body
come alive with tingling
nerve endings.

My gaze is transfixed
and I cannot tear my eyes
away, while craving
those lips for myself,
but they appear so distant,
unaccountable, as he reclines
cat-like poised for the strike,
with hunters eyes
waiting to devour me.

Yet stretching the moment
out in a slow torturous
languidness, he inhales
with confidence, as his hands
strong, easy, move like an
artists, weaving through the air.

To the core of my be
A Light in the DarknessHark! This darkness
that surrounds me
suffocating
in this lowly pit
of abandonment
long forgot by all
who knew me, with only
these old bones, of whose
fate I am sure to share,
for company.

I live in this well
of despair with a
feeling of forever drowning
not even shadows dwell here
only rats and misery
the first come to nibble at my toes
the other to nibble at my soul.

There is but one reprieve
the angel who descends
to play a cruel visit upon me
she illuminates my dingy existence
shines through the perceptual gloom
a blinding beauty which cannot be
touched.

And than she is gone
leaving me behind
with not
Spirit Darkness LightSpirit

The essence of life
our body is the vessel
we are the grail.

Darkness

Selene's hidden face
whispering into our hearts
fear not but embrace.

Light

Golden dawn disrobes
ascending into the sky
beacon for the mind.
Private GodsEven though I have dipped my chalice
into the rivers of Lethe
and drank deeply of oblivion,
to erase the emblem of your face,
it burns still in the eternal flame.

I fell upon my knees before the god
of forgetfulness and watched while I fed your name
into the blue fires of candlelight
as the smoke twisted above
before dissipating into only the lingering
scent of incense which sent me drifting
in an opium haze.

But there you still remain,
you are the Minotaur of the labyrinth
that is unseen, always the dark side of the moon,
but what is hidden can still imprison corridors of my soul.

I have drunk of the salt and vinegar w
Pandora's BoxBejewelled with gilded gold the box caught the eye
made to tempt with secret treasures kept inside
and who can resist such an inviting lie?

What darkness does the golden shine seek to hide?
Tarnished truths behind the dazzle locked from sight
within the outer beauty all doubts reside.

Avert your gaze from its false reflected light
don't allow its radiance to draw you near
there's no escape once you fall into the blight.

Once you raise the rubied lid all becomes clear
harbored deep within is all consuming fear.

Do what you would, but don't despair,
or if you would, despair with me.
We'd stare and fish, and cry and stare,
and like bored starfish grow to bear
the ghastly silence of the sea.

But then one day we would arise –
two coelacanths once thought extinct,
shape of.oh baby, i'm no leper.

an epiphany in the flavors of my aloneness
and evict the fears that once prowled

will blow and a new creation I will
come to know, I will sew the sinew of
my secrets into a new vein of Moonlight,
and unravel the twine of circumstance
that once tied down the fingers of my
fate, freshly fragranced by the arterial
flow of extravagant starry weight, alone
in the Moonlight I will create my own
reality and let the years wade far from
where I live, like the pieces of a puzzle

HyacinthI saw her tread untrodden paths –

her feet amidst the hyacinths,
her steps across the labyrinths

of yearning. That dusk endures,
swathed in layers of sensuous memory –

the sleekness of her scapula,
the silk along her jugular.

Her neck, her face. They linger.
A framed effigy untouched by time –

her smile the only masterpiece
to ever haunt my mantelpiece,

above the foliate flames. She was
a weaver of passion, woven to perish –

her knitting and her filigree
now clothed with melancholy

and dust.

"Don't go," he pleaded, his voice etched with the pain of his heart. His hand shot out to grab at hers, but she calmly stepped out of his reach. With an icy look she shook her head.

"Give me one reason to stay."

"I love you," he whispered, hoping it was what she wanted to hear. Her lips formed the only smile that could make him wince.

"I know you do," she replied, looking down at the ring on her finger.

"It's not enough, is it?" he asked, already knowing her answer.

She shook her head once again, this time slowly, and with an air of sadness. "No, it's not. I love you too, but I can't trust you. And that means more to me than anything." Her fingers caressed the ring, remembering the day he gave it to her. She thought forever was within their grasp. Now, looking at the broken man before her, her eyes filled with tears.  She touched his cheek briefly.

"Please..." he said, "Don't go. I'm nothing without you."

She brushed her lips across his cheek. "I'll be nothing if I stay." With one last look over her shoulder, she dropped the ring on the table and tried to smile once more. Silently, she opened the door, leaving the life she had known behind. As the door closed, the tears slid down her cheeks.

"If only my staying wouldn't hurt more than leaving does."

Yes.. it has no real plot. I've been blocked for a while now (I blame NaNo) and this was just a random ramble to break some of the block up.

Aww, it's heartbreaking, i loved it and it kind of made me want to know more about the backstory :heart:
